Here are the standard glossaries of MSELECT ...

They are not exhaustive and must be modified and completed by every user to create his own glossaries, according to his preferences, needs and experience.

Many abbreviations contain special characters. Doing so, it's possible to assign a specific meaning to every character in each glossary and create new items easily.

Examples :

Bullets :

( = jacketed,  { = soft pointed, = hollow point

Materials & colors :

( = Jacket,C = Copper,U = Cupro-nickel, = Tungsten-carbide, K = Cardboard

L = Lead, = Paper, P = Plastic

= Tombac, Y = Gilding metal, t = Teflon coated , = Uranium"

S = Steel, M = Mild steel

Only when used alone, abbreviations corresponding to colors begin with "-"  :

-p = pink, P = Plastic, Pp = Pink plastic. K = Cardboard, -k = black, Kk = Black cardboard

Uses :

Abbreviations corresponding to weapons always begin with "/" and follow any other information : P/p = Police, pistols

Types :

$ = Experimental : $it = Experimental, incendiary, tracer

To make the abbreviations easier to read, the main elements only are written in upper case, the following letters, only describing these main elements, remaining in lower case :

For example :

Cb1 = Centerfire (Berdan 1 hole)

Bqk = Brass (laquered - black)

(Bq L+ = Jacket : Brass (lacquered) - Core : Lead (hardened)
